So, the contest didn’t go as spectacularly as I’d hoped, but that’s no biggie! B Bunny and Softindierocker you’ve each one a Changeling Press e-book of your choice! Email me at emmaraygarrett@gmail.com and I’ll get you hooked up!
I guest blogged with Selena Illyria, aka Dark Ice Goddess A little bit about coffee, stress, and “Wild Orchid”, LOL!
And I’m running a contest because I love doing them. Three lucky commentors will each receive one copy of their choice of any Changeling Press e-book. All you have to do is reply to my guest post here or here. Everyone who comments will go into a hat and I’ll announce the winner here, on my blog, with directions on how to claim the prizes! I’ll post the winner on Friday May 1, 2008.
For participating is this fantastic event! I had a great time playing along - though I didn’t enter(that wouldn’t be right :D). I found a ton of new-to-me authors and my TBR pile grew like real bunnies with lots of time on their hands, LOL!
I hope all of you had a great time too! Leave me a note about a new author you found so I can check ‘em out. I spend a lot of time writing, but my real mistress is reading *big grin*!
LOL, that just gives me a giggle! A note to the bunny hunters, the search ends April 25th. My prize is a $10 Changeling Press gift certificate and a copy of “Pret Ops: Identity” in the format of your choosing.
Something I should note: the winner will need to have an account with Changeling Press in order to use the gift credit. If you don’t, it only takes a couple of minutes to set one up at the home site.
I joined Joyfully Reviewed’s “RT Bunny Hunt” this year. If you click on the button above, it will give you all the details to the hunt. I’m offering up a ten dollar Changeling Press gift certificate and a copy of “Pret Ops: Identity”.
Pret Ops: Identity will be available tomorrow at Changeling Press! Yippee!! Now, I’ve kept you guys waiting for an excerpt so I’ll be paying up today. Here’s a (slightly edited) excerpt! Enjoy
“Let’s get something to eat, John.” Cole leaned into the Cy Ops director’s office, earning a scowl from the occupant for the intrusion.
“Just bring me something back.” John Marshall motioned to the papers scattered across every inch of his desk. “I can’t leave right now.”
Cole sighed and shook his head. It looked like he was going to have to do this the hard way. “We’ve been buried here for months. We can take an hour.” Cole snatched the sheaf of papers from his friend and once lover.
“I have to get through this list of recruits.” John sat back in his chair and frowned up at Cole. “Otherwise, Rubenesso won’t be able to make the calls and get the last batch here by Monday.”
“Bullshit. Stas’ll make sure they’re here on time. Stop fucking worryin’ and let’s go eat.” Cole stepped around the desk and grabbed John’s upper arm, hauling the taller, heavier-muscled man from the chair as if he weighed nothing. One of the benefits of being an Ursudine — the other man’s superior bulk didn’t mean much.
“Ouch!” Cole jerked his scorched hand away, rubbing the sore palm. He shot John a scowl of his own. Okay, so maybe John had a couple of advantages.
“I didn’t burn you that bad, wimp.” The big man looked down at the seared remains of the right sleeve of his shirt. He grumbled and pulled open the bottom drawer of his desk, producing a new shirt.
Cole moved back so his friend could change his clothes, trying to ignore his dry mouth and the stirring behind his fly. John’s effect on his libido hadn’t changed one bit in all the years they’d known each other. From day one, the power and unabashed masculinity of the other man made Cole shift his stance, or cover a rising erection, more often than he cared to admit.
John caught him looking and grinned, familiar heat warming his dark green eyes.
Robson Green. ‘Nuff said. Robson isn’t classically handsome, but OMG, as Dr. Tony Hill he gets my blood pumping and the synapses firing. After all, he’s brilliant! And if my post about quantum physics didn’t give you clue enough, LOL, smart guys get me hot.
Speaking of WitB - rather BBC television - I’m also a huge fan of “Torchwood” and, much to my chagrin, “Ramsey’s Kitchen Nightmares“. I loathe Gordon Ramsey’s other TV shows, but he doesn’t seem like so much an asshole on KN. In fact, he comes across as a no bullshit, but caring, fellow. I like him on KN. Not so much in other venues - I think they tend to overemphasize his nasty temper and underemphasize his compassion.
Back to “Torchwood”. Ianto and Jack. God, forget Gwyn you two, I’m all for being the soft filling!!
Fans of the CBS Drama, “Moonlight”, are gathering together to give blood, showing their support for the show. Even though my lovely Mick isn’t going anywhere, yet, I think this is a totally cool thing for fans to do. So far, they have 3.000 pints pledged. That’s enough to save nearly 10.000 lives. Totally cool!
Here’s a link to the GW message board where I saw the post about the drive.
I’ll be posting an excerpt from Identity later today. Once I get MySpace to cooperate so I can update Changeling’s virgin sacrifices, LOL!
